Welcome to the Foundation!

The Rankin Philanthropic Foundation was established in 2008 as a private, family endeavour to provide capital and consultancy services to qualifying religious, educational or charitable organisations and institutions. To better enable the Foundation to facilitate and finance philanthropy more strategically, it has developed five focused grant programs: Project Sacred Liturgy, Project Sacred Spaces, Project Youth, Project Natural Law and Project Lux Veritatis.  More information about each of the grant programs is available on the Grant Programs and Grantmaking Policy webpage.

The Foundation only considers grant applications from 501(c)(3) entities, as determined by the Internal Revenue Service of the United States.  Grants are project-specific in nature and may be either outright or matching in form. Both types of grants are usually made on the basis of a 12-month funding cycle and may vary in value from $5,000 to $50,000, with most approved grants ranging from $10,000 to $25,000.  The Foundation does not fund individuals, institutional capital campaigns, general repair or maintenance projects or legislative efforts.  Grant proposals are received by invitation only, and unsolicited proposals will not be considered.   At present the Foundation is not structured to directly fund religious, educational or charitable organisations that are legally incorporated outside of the United States.  The Foundation's administrative and investment services are provided, in part, by Fidelity.

To assist the Foundation in carrying out its mission, this website was created to provide useful information to qualifying religious, educational and charitable organisations and institutions that are invited to apply for a grant.  Additionally, an online library has been incorporated into the website, which contains historic and contemporary ecclesiastical documents of significance, model projects relating to each grant program as well as other reference materials on a wide array of topics relevant to the Foundation's mission.  We hope this feature will serve as a useful resource both to grantees as well as to grant applicants who are developing their respective grant proposals.

Prayer for the Intercession of Pope St. Pius XII

O good Pope Pius XII, who did seek to glorify God, through the majesty of the Liturgy, grant that we, to whom it has fallen to defend Truth and Tradition, may find the grace and strength to persevere in all things. Intercede for us, good Pope Pius, that God may hear our cries, and that His mercy and love, may deem us worthy to be delivered from present affliction into the glorious reign of His most holy and beneficent will.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Members of the Board of Trustees of

The Rankin Philanthropic Foundation and their families
wish to express their deepest gratitude to our Lord
for the great blessing He bestowed upon
Holy Mother Church with the historic pontificate of
our Most Holy Father, Benedict XVI,

the 264th Successor to St. Peter. A pontiff with unwavering faith, holy wisdom and profound Christian courage, good Pope Benedict steadfastly defended the doctrines and dogmas of Christ's one, true Church throughout his reign over Christendom.

Let us offer our humble prayers for the soul of                        good Pope Benedict XVI,
that our Lord grant him eternal rest in the
Kingdom of Heaven.
